Eagle Scout Day of Service
HOUSTON
Eagle Scout Alumni: Day of Service
Saturday, October 13, 2012
Our Gathering of Eagles on February 29, 2012 carried the theme,
“Dedicated to a Life of Service.” We continued that theme and commitment with our first
Eagle Scout Day of Service in the Houston area on
Sat. Oct. 13, 2012, at
Yellowstone Academy, a faith-based, non-denominational school serving low-income children in grades K-8.
On this day,
35 Eagle Scout Alumni, age 16 to 60-something, gathered at the school to perform a variety of repairs and improvements. Organized into several discrete work teams, tools and materials were ready to go so that we could
“hit it hard for four hours and make a big difference for the school.”
Thanks to Big Mike for providing a luncheon feast of his famous burgers!

“Thank you for a great day at Yellowstone Academy. You have impressed us with you organization, your work ethic and your heart. We appreciate all that you did for us and especially the servant attitude you exhibited. These are certainly the qualities we want to instill in our students.”
-- Reg Brockwell, Eagle Scout and Yellowstone Academy Volunteer
“I echo everything that Reg said and on behalf of our staff and students, I want you to know how grateful we are.”
-- Kim Hanson, Executive Director, Yellowstone Academy
