Please join us for The Best Scout Fair on Earth, Sam Houston Area Council's annual Scout event on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Reliant Arena. Scout Fair is where Scouts from all over the Council unite in one place to display Scouting fun for all ages! Units-- take advantage of the chance to showcase your Scouting skills by participating in a unit booth. The planning and teamwork involved in booth participation provides great fun and learning opportunities.
    Plan your day to capture many activities:
    • Meet industry experts at the Merit Badge Midway & Conservation Corner
    • Try your luck with games of skill
    • Interact with other units across the Council
    • Sample outdoor cooking creations
Selling Scout Fair Coupon Packs not only sustains the Scout Fair Event and other Council programs, it also provides a great fundraising opportunity for your unit and allows Scouts to fund Scouting programs and activities by "earning their own way." Each Coupon Pack sells for only $10 offering over $500 in savings. When Scouts sell 15 or more Coupon Packs, they'll earn the Super Salesman Patch, qualify for entry in weekly drawings and earn great prizes from the Scout Fair Coupon Pack Prize Brochure. All units receive a 30% base commission for each $10 Scout Fair Coupon Pack sold with funds turned in on or before April 13, 2013.

Participate at Scout Fair as either a Service Unit or Booth Participant and earn an additional 10% commission. The Coupon Pack Prize Brochure features prizes for various sales levels. The Best Scout Fair on Earth is in partnership with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Circus.

Scouts reaching the Lions and Tigers Level (selling 213 Coupon Packs) receive a VIP Family-Four Prize Package to Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey presents DRAGONS on July 17, 2013.

Overview

Units MUST close account to receive commissions! All units receive 30% base commission for each $10 Scout Fair Coupon Pack sold and funds turned in on or before April 13, 2013. Participation at Scout Fair as either a Service Unit or Booth Participant earned unit an additional 10% commission. Units also took advantage of Early Bird Turn-In Dates allocating 5%, 3% and1% additional Bonus Commissions.

Scout Fair Booth Judging

Scout Fair Booths are judged on the following criteria:
Signage, Evidence of Youth Involvement, Adherence to Health/Safety Guidelines and Theme.

Award Ribbons are given for each of the following:
  • Inside Booths by District: Best Activity (Awards given for Cub Scouts, Boy Scoutsand Venturing)
  • Outdoor Cooking Booths: TOP CHEF (Awards given for best of in four Zones)
  • Outdoor Activity Booths (Non-Food): Best Activity (First, Second & Third Place)

Scout Fair & SuperSalesman Patches

Scouts that attend Scout Fair, participate at Scout Fair or sell Scout Fair Coupon Packs, receive a participation patch. Sell 15 Coupon Packs toqualify for the Super Salesman Patch (one Super Salesman Patch perScout. No Combining of sales between Scouts).

Chic-fil-a Weekly Drawings

For every 15 Coupon Packs sold, Scouts qualify for entry in the WEEKLY DRAWING to win Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwiches for a year* Weekly drawings are held every Friday at 4PM beginning February 8th – April 12th,2013. Scouts can enter multiple times. The Weekly Drawing entry is locatedon the money turn-in envelope. Winners will be notified by phone. Only ONE winner per week. Drawing prizes distributed at Scout Fair on April 13th. Weekly Drawing Turn-In Envelope
