As a part of the ongoing plan to relocate Camp Strake to its new location in Evergreen, Texas in 2016, a new Strake Scout Shop, named in honor of the Strake family, will serve the northeast section of the Council beginning March 31, 2014. The Strake Scout Shop will consist of 3,000 square feet in Conroe at the intersection of I-45 and S.H. 105 in The Crossroads Center. The hours of operation will be 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday thru Saturday. The shop will be closed on Sundays. The Scout Shop at Camp Strake will permanently close at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, March 25, in preparation for the new Strake Scout Shop that will have a soft opening on Monday, March 31. A grand opening and dedication ceremony will occur in early April. Our new Strake Scout Shop will more than quadruple the floor space of the current Scout Shop at Camp Strake.
Scouts entering 1st - 5th grade for the 2014-2015 school years may attend Day or Twilight Camp. Scouts will make new friends and share all kinds of new experiences including rank advancements, shooting BB guns and archery, learning new skills, playing sports and games and making crafts. Each scout will receive a T-shirt and patch. Registration online by district
Join us in “Celebrating a Century of Service” for the Sam Houston Area Council's 100th Birthday at the 2014 Scout Fair which will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10 am - 3 pm.. Scout Fair offers units the opportunity for Council-wide fellowship and a forum to showcase their many Scouting skills. The planning and teamwork used to create booth displays provides Scouts many program and learning opportunities. Scout Fair is FREE and a fun event for the entire family. Bring 2 cans of food for the Houston Food Bank and help us ring in the next century of service. Leaders info/booth registration

The BSA National Council appreciates the opportunity to communicate with charter partners and come to a mutual understanding.
